I haven't been excited about a model for a long time because of the lackluster, no personality and blah models on the catwalk left me wanting for more. When I first laid my eyes on Arlenis Sosa in the Fall 2008 runway shows, it was a serious who is that? The 19 year old Dominican beauty is beyond gorgeous with her stunning bronze skin. She was discovered by a local designer who sent her pictures to a friend at the Marilyn Agency in New York and they flew her out and she was signed on the spot! Arlenis walked all of the most influential designers runway such as Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Christian Dior and Jason Wu. Arlenis is going to be the face of Lancome 2009 campaign. It usually takes years for a model of color to book a deal as such and to strut on the runway for A-list designers but Arlenis accomplish all of this right out of the gate! I pray she remains humble and don't get caught up in the fashion world foolishness!

I thought it would never come the day that I will put sophisticated and chic in the same sentence with Kim Kardashian. I am so used to seeing her in tight, short and revealing ensembles paired with her atrocious hair extensions but lately she has been giving me fever in elegant and divine pieces. I believe Kim finally decided to hire a real stylist and wear more appropriate silhouettes. She also toned down her caked on make-up as well to a more natural hue. Now, all she needs to do is work on getting a real career!
